Default how did you fish the laser blades

Retired Air force, new to area. Live in Moody. Picking up my boat Saturday. Looking to learn how to fish Logan Martin. Was reading your posting and looking at picks and was wondering how you fished the rig you had (laser blades with weight). Were you drifting, trolling, casting?

Welcome to the area. I live in Odenville and fish Logan Martin some. I also fish Neely Henry on up the river a bit. Don't know how Pop was fishing those blades but there are lots of ways to catch crappie on Logan Martin. One that works good during the summer is shooting jigs under piers and docks that have shade under them. If you are interested in some crappie fishing competition Pop, myself and several others are in the Coosa River Crappie Club and we will hold a tournament on Logan Martin on Sept. 12th. Let some of us know and we could get you some more info. If you want to talk fishing send me a private message and I will send you my telephone number.

I metioned on the first page how to fish the blades but here it is again

Ok I will chime in here on the setup. In the first picture you can see a 3/4 oz weight tied on the line right at the bottom of Jerrys suspenders . Up about 18 inches is the laser blade tied to the line. You can either tie it straight on the line or use a small loop knot to attach it. Just try to keep the blades close to the line so they won't tangle around it.
Thread the line through the Laser Blade and tie it to the line leaving about 18 inches of tag line left and then tie off the sinker. Not much to it. But the colors of the blade seem to add to the minnow wiggle. You can also tie two Laser blades to the line a foot or so apart for a tandem setup. Or a blade and a jig, whatever you fancy.
We have even caught them just on the bare blade when jigging. When you raise your rod tip up and down if the blade is attached to a 10 in leader it will flutter like a wounded minnow when you do this jigging method with the up and down movement of the rod. If you have any other questions just IM me.
