Great job, first gator I've seen on SI!
We went in search of BG and SC over the the past few days. We stayed at Lakepoint State Park arriving Wednesday afternoon and stayed through Sunday. First, there is no shortage of alligators here. I know that sounds like an oxymoron thing to state, but I bet we saw a 100 if we saw one.
We searched for beds using SI everyday. I learned old beds from last year don’t necessarily mean they are active this year. Fresh beds look distinctive. I was surprised to find more beds up in the creeks then on the main lake and they were small flats or points close to grass and wood. They were also close to drop offs.
We pretty much got whooped - didn’t find good ones except on three beds. Lots of small fish throwing at the banks around grass. We fished wrigglers, honey worms, and artificials. Little trout magnet baits with a 1/64 oz head worked best for us on this particular day (Saturday). The cold front seemed to slow down the bite considerably. Below are a few pics. Hope you enjoy. I caught the image of the gator while scanning. I approached it and it dove - swung around and there it was.

Nice !
The gills/crackers love protected coves ,creeks, and flats , and have noticed this year that the bigger fish move out a little deeper during cold spells but have continued to catch smalls.
