Years ago I knew a couple guys that ran nets at the mouth of the river and the sound. One day we came across them pulling in their 100 yard nets. They would pull a couple feet in and then take several fish out and throw back. GAR, GAR, GAR. I never seen so many in all my life. The entire net was filled with them. I asked why they didn't slit their bellies and they replied they wanted to get home by midnight. BTW, they were after white perch.
