I like diawa j braid x4 in 15lb. flourescent hi viz yellow with a 10lb clear mono leader. The x4 being a little courser shows up on livescope great.
I’ve used braid for a long time. You’re going to have to be good at retying leaders cuz when you hang up that’s what will give. I’ve used Varivas and Power Pro with good success. The power pro gets my salt adventures and the Varivas is on about 8 of my fresh water rods. Don’t be concerned about color fade. It hasn’t affected the performance of any of mine. If it starts to show signs of wear, lay it out on the yard and turn it around. Good for two more years. The stuff lasts forever compared to mono and casting is rediculous.

it absorbs water and trashes a trip if the temps are below 32 degrees.....

or carry line warmers if they make such a thing ....

My advice is don’t buy too much until you see how you like it…

Since I use a leader I went from 10lb braid to 30lb and I seem to have less problems (especially when you get twists in line with a spinning reel and grand kids using them) and it is bigger so it is easier to untangle when you have problems. It seems to show up better on livescope to me.
Been using braid 10 years for crappie fishing and have tried just about every brand there is. My favorite is K9 white braid.
