CVA Scout (ambidextrous) in a 35 Whelen Heavy Fluted barrel, Leupold 3-9X40MM Freedom CDS Duplex. It's for Iowa. The only necked cartridge they allow. Other than that it's muzzle loader, shotgun slugs, or straight walled ammo. The 35 is way more accurate and has 3 times the range of the next best thing they allow. Unless you want to fork out $5K for a custom long range muzzle loader. Hunted up there for several years with a standard inline muzzle loader until they changed the regs and opened up some centerfire cartridges. The ol' smoke pole is collecting dust now.

For here at home, I have a Remington model 700 BDL-LH 270 with a single 6X Redfield wide angle (rectangle optical and reticle lens) my wife gave me for Christmas back in 1983. Had to have the crosshairs replaced a couple years ago but it still shoots deadly groups after all these years. For the other Midwest states I hunt I shoot a 338 Lapua Mag.
