I have found two all black ones on our sidewalk. Bring on the snow
I found this little guy crossing the path as I was walking around the lake .
I looked up how to tell how rough the winter is going to be by using the wooly bear caterpillars .
“ The longer the woolly bear's black bands, the longer, colder, snowier, and more severe the winter will be. Similarly, the wider the middle brown band is associated with a milder upcoming winter. The position of the longest dark bands supposedly indicates which part of winter will be coldest or hardest.”
Looks like we’re going to have a mild winter with cooler weather at the beginning and at the end .
That explains why it’s cooler than normal now .

I heard if you find them in a warm light rain, mild winter. Find them frozen under 18"of snow in a 25mph wind, severe winter.

I hope we have a mild winter. I have plants in my unheated greenhouse I don’t want to lose. Send all our cold weather to Buckeye…..

Send it here too! Didn't have much of an ice fishing season last year.
