For me it is podcasts, audio books, a ballgame, or some music through AirPods. Sometimes if a ballgame and my son is with me, I might listen through a Bluetooth speaker, although it is still somewhat quiet.

I still like them. There is some newer talent that’s great, but the kicker is, you won’t hear it on the radio. Most of them are anti-establishment (Nashville) more or less, Nashville has went to the dogs to put it nicely. But they’re doing good, selling out live shows and getting played on stuff like pandora or xm

Sound isn't going to mess up a fish unless they are already finicky.
The only reason our Dads told us that it would is because they just wanted us to shut up.

What's a crankbait? My canoe and I like it quiet. I tend to avoid big lakes that have a lot of folks in a loud hurry but don't know where they're going.

some of my preferred listening will for sure scare off fish anyway .....just saying ....
when I was a young one and they opened lake fork we used to hammer crappie all night long under lights ....
we listened to a variety of rock back then and to be sure we found that rod Stewart songs improved the bite ....
we also used a blacklight to make our black and chart tube jigs glow like a neon light ....
one thing for certain , back then it was unheard of to jig dunk at night , the old timers said we were full of it and ONLY minnows worked .....200 crappie a night made me rethink all the rules on crappie ketchn laid down by the crappie law makers back in the day ....
