Thought I would update about my eye surgery. They removed the cataracts in my left eye and corrected the stigmatism at the same time. The actual surgery took about 20 minutes, but the prep took almost an hour, time for the numbing drops and then the dilation drops to work. wasn't painful at all. I had a follow-up Dr.'s visit 2 hrs. later, where the Dr. checked the eye over really well and measured the eye pressure, More numbing drops, as they actually touch the eye with the measuring device. I have to wear this clear protective lense cover for a bit, real bothersome to me. Next visit, a check up on the 18th, and surgery on the right eye on the 23rd...More updates to follow.

Sounds like you are on track to getting your eyesight back where it should be Eric.

The Left one, that they did today, is the one that had the hole in the macula. That hole was dead center in my vision. It's good with the big view, but when I try to concentrate on details with that eye, I have to keep blinking and moving it around. Now the right one is good, just cataracts and a bit of stigmatism, which should be taken care of on the 23rd.

Wow, Eric, you are on your way, and what a blessing good vision will be for you. You will be tying flies and chasing fish before you know it. Take good care for you and your wife.

Glad to hear your eye surgery went well and that you will soon be fishing again.
