I saw a manatee over here on the pearl River years ago, very neat to see for sure. Only 1 I've ever seen as they are not native here.

You can still snorkel with them by crystal river. Just not supposed to touch them. Funny thing is, they'll touch you though, which I'm told is ok. They are just so placid and curious. Cool animals. I'd encourage all Florida boaters that motor in their waters to get a prop protector. Almost every one you see has prop damage. I put one on my boat and it improved it's "planeability".
