Because the footage was shot on two separate days when I was testing the two separate configurations. In centerpin fishing you can adjust the reel based on the cast you're using or your own personal preference. The British Columbia cast, a. k. a. the BC cast, works best with the reel back toward the but of the rod like a fly rod. The Wallis cast tends to work better with the reel toward the front.
It's really personal preference at the end of the day. I prefer Michigan-style where the reel is rigged like a two-handed fly rod, even when using the Wallis cast.
There is a variety in line weights, reel sizes and rod lengths in centerpin fishing. The each rod and reel combo has a different balance point. You have to find that balanced point, then rig it according to your preferences. Why do you think most rod manufacturers put the reel seat in the middle? Becasue it splits the difference between the two styles. They aren't doing it for better fishing. They doing to make more sales and reduce overhead. When ever you have a Tennessee handle you get to chose the perfect balance point. I covered this in the previous video:
Also at the 3:30 mark when you see me actually catch the fish, the reel is toward the back of the handle just like I said. Not everything is filmed chronologically. If you pay more attention, you'll see that I'm wearing a different shirt on the shot with the reel close to the front. It took me about a week and a half to shoot this video.

Well, if you know, then, why ask? Nevermind that the video wasn't even about fishing.
Dude, be grateful I watched your video. LOL
To answer your question:
1. I’ve never seen anyone fish a ‘pin that far back on the handle.
2. I’ve never seen anyone switch reel seat positions.
I learned from a Brit. They all fish ‘pins as close to the first guide as possible.
Tip for starting a YouTube channel in 2023:
Don’t be sarcastic with viewers who ask honest questions. LOL
Thank you for your input, have a nice rest of 2022. I'm finished with this conversation.
