    Default SNAKE !

tis the season ya'll ,let's SEE them , them there reptilian ones is out and about ...
here is one for ya , these here snakes have one of them big old wive's tales that follow them around .
make a squirrel going up a tree look like a turtle for sure , fast a lightning no doubt about it , not dangerous ,but to be sure it is hard to get a view of them sometimes , the speed they leave the scene of the crime is amazing ....
seem to have really great eyesight as well ..... diurnal hunters is likely why ...day time snakes to say the least , never seen one after dark ...
western coachwhip is my guess , might be another one of that genus though , hard to say without handling it some and looking closer at it .

Nice photo, but I’ll leave the handling to you! We have some black snakes up at my RC field that live under our spare paving blocks, but I stay clear of them. We have water snakes a’plenty on my home creek. Sometimes there is a bunch perpendicular just at the shoreline lined up in a row. If only the little Minnie’s knew….

Jim, It would be welcome to it if I were walking by. Don’t like them critters! It was (I think) the only thing my mother would kill. She was death on snakes in the garden!

In my mom’s case, and it was unfortunate, it was usually a green garden snake. As I got older I tried to convince her they ate things and helped keep the garden clean of pests, but she wasn’t buying it!

My Mom was the same way. It didn't matter that it was merely just a Garter Snake or DeKay's Brownsnake, to her it may just as well be a Rattlesnake .... and she was going after it, usually with a hoe
