Nice colors. That one bass looked mighty colorful, and the pan’s yellow bottom was real nice.

The first front finished dumping rain on us today around 5:30 , an hour before they predicted.
By the time I got it together and headed up to the pond it was almost 6:00 .
The pond was over full from all of the rain we’d had today .
I had made plans earlier today , as it rained , to target the green trout with my new little five footer rod .
I added a Daiwa Legalis LT 1000d to it loaded with 4# Fluorescent green line with a 6-7’ leader of 4# P-Line Crystal .
I’d cut up some Zoom Finesse worms and used the tail 2.5” worth as a mini worm .
I first tried it wacky style using a 1/64 size 8 jighead , but switched to a drop shot using the same jighead because the wind started picking up making casting and fishing tough .
I managed to catch three small LMs and then took took my Swiss Army little pocket knife with scissors and trimmed the tail section shorter and split it , in an attempt to make a crawfish looking bait .
I caught a small redear on the “ on the creation at the lake “ but lost the entire rig when I made a cast over the flooded overflow pipe.
By this time, the wind was getting terrible for trying to fish .
I tried hiding behind the bridge but my time ran out before I was able to catch anything else .
A different and fun hour spent at the pond .
I only posted one LM picture , they all kinda look the same , except one was smaller .
I used four pound test over my regular two pound test today because of the elevated banks , especially on the dam side of the pond . I’ve had small LM break off two pound test trying to slide them up the bank .
I had a slow start to my day, didn’t want to be there. I’ll fix that one day. It didn’t help that the lakes I passed were glass smooth. It appears that your day was much better than mine. Pretty ‘cracker too.

Nice looking fish there, gill, and that mod you made to the worm looked good. Thanks for the share.

I got up to a foggy , drizzly , morning.
Checking the forecast , I was supposed to be granted an hour half window without precipitation.
At 10:15 I grabbed my stuff and took off for the Town pond .
I took my little BFS combo and tried it for about 15 of my valuable minutes . I had too many casts that went left over the bridge and walked back to my vehicle and exchanged it for my little five footer and Daiwa Revros lt1000s loaded with 2# P-Line .
Setup was a drop shot with a 1/80 jighead 18” above a 1/16 weight , ready for a small plastic .
First up was a Bobby Garland Itty bit swimmer in Monkey milk .
My first cast yielded a nice gill . What a fighter on the little five foot UL , pulling drag several times it tried to go under the bridge , as I got it close , I could feel my line against the bridge post and I was worried it was going to break me off . But the P-line held , and the little rod turned the gill toward me . I slid the gill up on one of the rocks and reached down with my gloved left hand and grabbed it .
I took one picture with it next to my rod handle which measures just over 8.75” , so I’m guessing the gill was 9-9.25”
Several more casts with the Monkey Milk and switched to a solid black BG Itty Bit swimmer and caught a decent redear and then a medium size gill before it started drizzling on me for the third .
I thought the rain was headed in , so I left only to get home to dry windshield.
A fun hour .
I am blessed to have somewhere to fish that’s only five minutes from the house where I can get in these short trips .
You had a good day for a short window. I have 3 ramps within ten minutes of the house. In TN I had a lake, Woods Res., that had me wet in twelve minutes. I fished it a lot as I had short midweek windows at the time. You have a lot of good days midweek. I’ll get back to that one day, maybe soon.
