Beagle can give you some ideas.
I plan to go a couple of times looking for some whites. I’ll be in the Big Sac river. I would like to spend some time trying to locate some crappie. My issue is I have no idea where they might be. Will the likely be around points, in coves, around standing timber or on brush piles. Will the tend to be schooled up or scattered?
A little advice please.

good rule find the brush piles and shad balls and you'll find the crappie.

I would be checking deeper water within 100 yards of spawning banks. You can see the banks right now so look for pea gravel. Deeper water may only be 5 ft. deeper. Also the mouths of the smaller coves with pea gravel.
Big sac, you mean up C C If so bridge pier at the ramp, their are a few crappie on brush, but you better be good at brush pile fishing to catch them. their are several spots in Springfield cove as your going in look left fish the east bank I always had good luck on the left side... coming out of the cove go west see the boat dock, that cove hold crappie in the spring. couple cranky dock owners there so stay back. MDC posted some new brush piles, check out their web site.
