Prayers for successful surgery and a fast recovery. Hope that you can get back to catching crappie soon.

Thoughts and prayers are with you brother. I've been putting off multiple surgeries for some time myself.
Gettin' old is certainly not for the faint of heart... and I am learning that more and more every day...
...but feel very blessed to able to be countin' those days.

Thanks to all for your words of encouragement.

This has been a trying week. I had scheduled a certain amount of work before my surgery. The tornado and seeing the suffering all around me has really kicked the props out from under me. At my pre-op this morning, my blood pressure was unusually high. The nurse asked if it was white coat syndrome. I told her you see what I've seen since Friday and your BP would be high also.

My nephew lives in Huntsville, AL. He is a member of a church based crew that goes to disasters with heavy equipment and helps clear roads and such. He is not familiar with this area so I took him to locations they had been expected to be assigned. As we drove along Hwy 131, just east of downtown Mayfield, I was kicked in the gut by what I saw. A Dollar General Store looked like a huge foot had stomped it flat. Nobody would have gotten out of there alive had the storm happened earlier. Every tree was twisted off several feet above ground. Right in the middle of all the carnage was an antebellum looking house that looked perfect!

I'm hoping my head and heart will clear up before I got to the hospital Monday.

More like the work I was doing in my pipe plant. Running manual threading machines for conduit pipe from size 2 1/2” to 6”, in ten foot pieces. Pulling and pushing that big stuff took its toll on my body. Worked that job for the majority of the 37 years I worked for that company. Had to take care of my family. Thankfully they got my shoulder right the third time. I’m retired and fishin whenever I feel like goin.
Hang in there brother Doug. Still praying for you.

I texted Doug a bit ago and he said all went well. He should be able to go home tomorrow. He will have lengthy rehab.
My bride went through the same operation, at the same hospital, and same doctor about a month ago, and is doing well.

I got to come home yesterday. I have very little pain. Sleeping is tough with this sling on. I start PT Thursday morning. I’ll keep C.com posted.
