What was it the Charlie Daniel's band sang
The day the world stopped turning?
That kind of summed it up

i believe it was Alan Jackson’s “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning” unless Charle did one too.

I was home on leave painting my mothers front porch ceiling and the next morning waiting in line for hours at the COSCOM gate to get to work at Ft. Bragg. Within a year I was living in a bombed out mud building on Bagram Airbase. The events of 9/11 led to serving 61 months in Afghanistan and Iraq through 2011. I lost many Soldiers there and attended even more memorials and hundreds of plane side transfers of remains. I would do it all again if called upon and hope and pray the youth of these young generations will answer the call as so many did after 9/11/2001.

I Remember the day well...that night I got to deliver freight to the Post Exchange, (on base dept. store), at Ft Bragg, NC. TOOK 3 hours for a normal 5 minute check...Everything changed in the US after. Seems many have forgotten, many are in positions now, and unfortunately don't seem to care...

Never, this is what got my son to join the Army back then at 32 or 33 years of age! I would have never thought he would end up being a Green Beret at 37 years old! He still is out busting his tail doing something all the time. Now it's bike riding and of course not easy kind, lol!
