Oh yea I forgot to wish everyone a happy 4th of July.
Got an early start to beat the heat, catching fish from the start. Then then then there is always T H E N. Anyway probably caught 25 or so bringing home 15 of the bigger fish. This part is for all the new guys wanting to learn how to pull cranks and some of the problems that may arise. Back to Then, I noticed it was starting to get dark out to the north Then all 4 poles on the port side load up Then all 4 poles on the starboard side load up A Major Snag. I ran over a monofilament Gill net. At $6 a bait there is no way I was going to cut My Lines, sharp knife in hand I went to work and a half hour later I got everything clear till I started the big motor to head home and ran over the part of the he net and got it tangled in the prop. Now I’m so mad, I used the trolling motor to pull everything close to the sand bar and got in waste deep water and finished cutting up that ______ net. So y’all keep this in mind when you start and stay away from jugs in a line this is probably a trout line. I just had to vent here’s some pictures. Spot got the first one.

So sorry about the bad luck but you saved your equipment and brought home a nice box.

Skippa...I know the feeling! Those Gill nets and trout lines should be illegal unless the owner stays with the net to keep it away from everyone!
Bunch of nice fish !

A great ending to a good day of catching a nice mess of slabs and a bad luck net....

Sorry about the bad luck Skip. But you ended up with a nice mess. I always steer clear of any jugs I see. When you're dealing with the river, there's no telling what's down there. I snagged a slat trap once. I was lucky to get it up. Needless to say, it went up on the bank.

Do you think a single pole jigger could catch anything there? I have not been since I gave up bass fishing.
For someone like you it should not be a problem.
