TAKING OVER THE WIFES KITCHEN -- Powder coating and baking Pink Jig heads for Darbonne gathering. I had been in Jacksonville Fla for 30 years and Salt water fishing was it for me while there. I first met him at the State Park at the Gathering and he kind of took me under his wing when it comes to fishing for Crappie. He showed me many things that makes things easier, like how to wrap the line between the guides of the pole that stops the lines from getting all tangled together The first Time I ever saw a Loop Knot was on his poles but it took me years to see how they worked. He worked tirelessly finding Sponsors for door Prizes like Armstrong Cricket Farm in West Monroe. Many of the Fishing Rods actually came from them --- Tazer Jigs from Georgia loaded me up one year, but a very simple Rod wrap for the Handle was one of the best thing I ever put on a rod. it makes the handle a pleasure to hold and reduces fatigue -- which brings me to Today --- About 10 years ago the wife picked out a 10 and 12 foot IM 7 Graphite poles Jimmy Huston Signature Made in China. the handles 20 inches looked to be Cork but was a paper thin imitation over Foam of some type, but the rods themselves are excellent. I went on Line hunting the same kind of rod Wrap I had got at the gathering but ordered from Amazon a 96 inch wrap because I didn't know how much I needed for a 20 inch Handle, Cost $20, free shipping. I had so much left over on the first pole I decided to put what was left on the second Rod. To My complete surprise the Wrap was enough to cover the whole handle with 7 inches that I didnt need. So each handle cost $10 and put these rods at the Top of all the rods We fish with.. And I owe it all to Doc Waldo

I talked to Doc on the phone a few months back. He is well and busy as all get up with family and projects. Next time I get up to Shreveport he wants me to give him a call and we'll see about hooking up with a visit. Will try to get Doc, Cajun Dave, and Wally in on that. All of them are great people and friends.

I ran into Doc and Shannon at Walmart a few days ago. He's looking good and doing well. I keep up with him on facebook too and I think his life is centered around his family more than ever, and has been for the past several years. Brody is into hockey and has a sno-cone business called Bro's Snow , Mark's two girls are grown and one just got engaged. He's definitely keeping busy!
