After you spend all the time and effort to tie a custom jig, how do you store/transport it to the lake. I have thought about everything from a Plano 3700 to a fly fishing fly box. I am transitioning from plastics to all custom ties and do not want to put in the effort and then ruin them by improper storage. Thanks

The best ones for jigs are the ones for streamers, like Cliff’s Bugger Barn.
Jigs are just heavy streamers. Or, streamers are just light jigs — however you want to think about it.

I do what you are thinking of doing USMA65. I cut foam for my 3600 boxes to hook jigs in and I have fly boxes for the littler ones.

I had the same concern about my ties. I first was using 3600 boxes. I read a post on here about Lost Creek boat fly boxes. Sportsman's warehouse I think is where I bought them first. I did a Amazon search and I found them on there a bit cheaper. I also found a soft half high bag to carry them in. Its holds five of the boxes. As was stated I don't use plastics as much as I used to.

Found a storage box on Amazon I like, it's the Gamakatsu G3600SF G-Box, Slit Foam Utility Case for $12 they have a smaller version for a little less.

Yup I have a couple, decent boxes.
I’ve had a few that I made that did a real good job, Plano open boxes and a sheet of polyurethane foam from a packing crate. Lots of folks have done a variation of this. My tying addiction had me covered up in jigs that I couldn’t ever use so I filled the boxes and sold them here on the classifieds. I found that size of the jig being stored makes a difference too. No sense in having a large box to store jigs under 1/32. I bought a couple of fly boxes with silicone inserts that have slits to hold the jigs. They work well and they don’t get in the way when I get a couple of them out. I like the gamagatsu boxes shown, never seen those before. They’d work well for 1/16 and up, and I have few of those. Good thread, updated from the last ones I remember seeing.
