Memorial weekend will be a madhouse of pleasure boaters more than likely. Ramp wait times will be frustrating.

The SouthFork RV campground is brand new and Ron/Mary run a a really nice operation so I don't think you could go wrong there...... call Ron and see what, if anything he has available. I agree with Dep that next weekend, especially if the weather stabilizes, will be an unmitigated disaster, especially considering how "cabin-feverish" everyone is.
South Fork Resort at Mark Twain Lake
From a fishing perspective, I made it to Twain for a quick day of fishing with Dad on Saturday. We don't look to the banks this time of year, regardless if it's on or not but I can tell you there were A LOT of bank beaters out with very limited success reported. We single poled standing structure in 8-15 ft. of water and caught plenty of quality fish.....mostly females, yet to spawn. The lake is on another rise and is currently sitting at 612'. The rivers got blown out last week and through the weekend. That said, if the weather stabilizes, lower/main lake fish will take off and FAST.

The lake was fishing pretty good. Fished tournament Saturday and had 9.95 and took 5th. Missed 20-30 fish 5 or so probably would have helped but couldn’t get the big fish too bite. When you have to have over 10 pounds to win a tournament on Twain no matter what time of year you know the fish are big. 13.63 won it with a monster 3.61 kicker. Has to be the biggest ever weighed on Twain and probably one of the biggest if not the biggest caught. Was a 2.87 weighed yesterday in youth tournament.

Yup, Mike and Kitty live just down the way from us on the same county road.... Dad ran into him Saturday night and he was still shaking from that toad! I recall a few years back another one of our buddies weighed one just over 3# so yeah, to catch a 3.6 on tournament day is some dang good timing. Mike said a 1.5 lb. fish was nothing special on Saturday, needed the big ones...which is crazy on Twain. Interesting though that he went back to the same area on Sunday for the youth tourney and nada!
Dep, where were ya on Saturday? Saw a few boats rigging in Shell but didn't think it was you.

Thanks stuff came up and I can’t make it this weekend but lake has been on my list. Rend is four hours from me. Mark Twain is about the same I hope to get out there some time
I’m thinking about heading to Mark Twain this Saturday and Sunday. I’m watching the weather to see how much rain they get in the next few days. I usually try to stay at Southfork, but I may not be able to get a room due to waiting on the forecast. Looking to keep in touch over the next few days to see how things go. Were most people spider rigging last weekend at this tournament? I have spider rigging equipment if needed. I haven’t been to MT in about 10 years so I hope the weather holds up.
