Dave will you help WW42, make sure that there are showers? LOL Sorry just couldn't help myself buddy!
We are just starting to make plans for our 2019 Fall Crappie Camp at Lake Sardis, OK so mark the dates on you calendars. Woodworker42 and I will be planning a recon trip in the next few weeks to locate the camping area. There will spaces for camping trailers, motor homes and tents. We will also locate motels in the Clayton area. Sardis is one of the few lakes we have not had a camp on. If you have fished the lake before, we would appreciate any information you can share with us. More information to follow.

26Aug19 UPDATE - SARDIS LAKE CAMP: 9Oct (Wednesday) - 13 Oct (Sunday)
On August 8th, Merle, Jason and I made a recon trip to Lake Sardis to look at the campgrounds and campsites for our October Camp.
There are three campgrounds and each one has good points and not so good points.
SARDIS COVE CAMPGROUNDS- GOOD: Several nice lakeside level campsites, water and electrical on several good sites, boat ramp, truck parking at ramp and restrooms. BAD: No showers (Must drive to PH South for showers)
(Campsites 1-13 and 37-45 have water and electric. Will post Campground map later.)
POTATO HILLS SOUTH CAMPGROUNDS - GOOD: Boat Ramp, truck parking at ramp, toilets and SHOWERS! BAD: Campsites do NOT have water or electricity.
POTATO HILLS CENTRAL CAMPGROUNDS - GOOD: Lots of campsites (a lot on rocky ground), toilets and SHOWERS. BAD: NO BOAT RAMP (Must drive to PH South to launch boats)
The Recon Team decided that SARDIS COVE CAMPGROUNDS was the best choice of the three, mainly due to the better Campsites. It's a short drive to PH South for showers.
IMPORTANT NOTE: SARDIS COVE CAMPGROUNDS sites can not be reserved on Recreation .gov. It's a "first come" system. I talked to the Campground Host, Pam Moore,
and she indicated that if we plan on arriving on Wednesday or Thursday , we should be able to get the sites we want. I will call her on Monday before the Camp and see what sites are available.
We are hoping to camp on sites 36-40. Respond to this post and let me know when you plan on going to the Campgrounds.

Sardis Cove has always been my preferred campground at Sardis Lake. I plan on arriving Sunday evening, the 6th of October and departing Sunday morning, the 13th. I will be in my camper and will probably have Bea with me. As I recall, I can have one additional tent on my site, I will set up on the 6th and return to OKC the next morning to pick up my boat so should be established there Monday afternoon/evening. Currently, I plan to move from Sardis on the 13th and relocate to Turkey Flat at Eufaula to camp with my wife and some friends there for a week or so. I can assist in the camp operation. Just let me know.

Is this still a go? I would be interested. New to crappie.com and boat crappie fishing. Mostly been a dock guy at Carl Blackwell. Enjoy camping and definitely fall into the Geezer demographic (60). Thanks
It is still on. For some reason Oklahoma CDC has gone pretty dormant. I was not at the recent meeting about this so don't know who all is coming. I think we are close enough now to the event that we make some plans. If you are going to attend please post here (with the dates) so we can get an idea for the fish fry we usually have. I plan to have my medium sized weber charcoal grill available at my site. We usually have a fish fry on Friday or Saturday evening. Added: Every age is welcome don't need to be a Geezer
My current plans are to be there for fishing Monday, the 7th to early afternoon on Saturday, the 12th. At that time I'll drag my boat back to OKC so I can attend church Sunday morning. Then back to Sardis that afternoon to break camp for Monday morning departure. I believe there are a couple of guys coming in on Tuesday afternoon. Most usually arrive on Wednesday. I'll start the list and see what happens:
1. IkenI (Floyd Carter) arrive and set up 6 Oct, depart 12 Oct.
