If you purchased the fish, they are yours to do with what you wish...do you have the receipt? The only problem I could foresee is proving you bought the fish if the agent came looking
My pond has a slow leak, when the ice is gone I am going to remove what fish I can, these fish are the ones I bought from a fish farm out of Arkansas, My question, I am going to harvest the fish and freeze them, That will probably put me over the States posession limit, but they are not the states fish, so am I leagle to keep the fish.

TMason is correct. I asked our Protection folks and as long as you have the receipt of purchase you will be fine. It'll be tough to get a large portion of them out, but it'll be fun trying.

well the wife said she does not keep those tickets, so guess the crows will feed well, I plan on scraping and sheepfooting the pond to maybe seal it, so no water should make removing the fish easy. Thank you for your response.
You can always give them away too. Once you give them away they aren't part of your possession limit. It's very difficult to salvage fish as you drain the pond. Silt accumulation in the pond will make getting to the fish in the last little pool virtually impossible. Catching them prior to draining is about the best you can do.
Net them is one of the ways and then pump as low as you can is how we did ours. Alter that we cut the dam down so it dry outa bit. We put a good fence up and 6 hogs. The best packer and they pack is as we back fell the cut.

Big fish fry. Is there an organization that could use the fish? Maybe someone would want them to put in there pond.
well yea I want them in my freezer, just did not want to violate any possession rules.
I recently drained an old 1/2 acre pond to refurbish the fish population. Drained it down most of the way with a siphon setup using PVC pipe over the dam. Pretty slick as it runs 24/7 until it sucks air. Then used a cheap 2" pump to get more water out to concentrate the fish into a small area and net them with a hand net fixed to a pole. Unless your pond is relatively new the muck is an issue. Get a bunch of old pallets to make a trail to walk on out to the low spot where the fish are. I would have been in serious trouble if I had stepped off my pallets - the muck was at least 5 foot deep. I put the fish I caught - plus a few hundred giant tadpoles - into another pond.

It's your pond, you bought the fish, you maintained the water environment, so keep the darn fish. You could invite your family and friends over to watch/help gather up the fish. Clean em, put em in a bag and have different people put their names on the bags. Put them in your freezer for safe keeping and you can give some away as you see fit. We all know you're an honest fellow, so I can't believe anyone would call you out.
