The C clamps work for bridges with Steel I Beams. Town and Short creek bridges have concrete beams. I know what Jiggah is talking about but I don’t know really how to describe it. I use to have one that I made myself. It was 3/4” plywood with a notch cut out to hold onto the concrete beam. I think I still remember how to make the clamp but I can’t remember how I came up with the size and shape of that notched area. If the notched out area isn’t perfect it won’t hold onto the beam
ok top pic is a new c-clamp,(bottom pic i just put the pvc pipe there) cut the little handle at the bottom off, get you 1/2 or 3/4 pvc pipe 3 or 4 ft. long, weld you a rod, rebar or what ever you want to use at the end where you took the little handle off ,right under the weld slide you a washer on it up to the weld, tack it off, then slide your pvc pipe onto the rod, let enough of what ever you used to connect to the c-clamp stick out just enough to where you can weld you a 6 or 8 inch handle to the end,now you can hold it (the pvc pipe) and turn it while holding it.the washer will keep the pvc pipe from going up,the main rod is inside the pvc pipe now.
don't got to have the pvc pipe but makes it easy.
hope this helps........
