How great is that Cane Pole? I am so happy for you and I know you are very proud and good reason to be! Congratulations on the catch on your hand tied jig! I am proud of you and the work you put in learning the tying end of this fun!

Caught this one in 4 FOW off our dock using my own hand tied jigs. (Sometimes I impress my own self.) This is a hawg in anybodies book, even 'ol Spoonies. The jig used was a 1/16 oz minner head painted black with them 3d eyes, pink body, and chartreuse tail feathers with tinfoil flash added for luck. You just gotta have that luck. Also wanna express another big thanks to the fellers on the jig tying forum. BIG THANKS.

With this same jig, I landed a big bass shortly after landing the crappie.. This bass would easily topped 5 pounds. Fun, fun with lightweight tackle. I had to bring that bass up out of the water about 6 feet so to clear the dock walkway handrail. Just imagine the bend in my lightweight pole with a fish determined to free itself. Mama Mia! I thought the pole was gonna snap. Wow! I still get a thrill landing these big fishes. We released all fishes. Maybe they will come back for another visit.

Needless to say we had a large time. Life is good on the golden pond.=, Ky Lake.
So how much did that luncker weigh? Y'all have some huge Crappie out East.
