anyone have a source for some good string to make bobber stops ?
i've tried dental floss, and braid fishing line and didn't like neither.
just had to throw abunch of store bought stops away. they where wrapped wrong.
so i'm making my own.

Sorry can't help you on that one - I got away from the string stops years ago and use the little rubber ones.
I have used Walmart crochet string for decades. When wet it really stays put.

This is almost identical to my steps. I cut the stirrers in half and the string a lot longer. At around the 2:50 marks he is threading the last tag end back thru the channel. Instead of the channel I go back thru the hole of one of the stirrers. Pinch the string and stirrer tight and pull both back out of the loops. Just an alternate way that works for me.

Has anyone tried cutting a slit down the length of the straw that the bobber stop stays on (prior to wrapping)?
I like the slotted sleeve on the Rod N Bobb's brand. You can thread it on first, then a bead (if necessary), then the bobber, then your terminal tackle. This is handy especially if you are going to be fishing deep. You don't have to slide a tightened know the whole length. The slot lets the sleeve come off the line right where you since it!
