Thread: Hugo Lake "Resort Camp" February, 2017

What I found interesting was driving along the west side of the lake towards the river. Saw a place where the circus folks stay during the winter along the side of the road. Can't recall what circus it was. Never have seen that before. I'm sure some of you folks know what I am talking about. Couldn't help myself to wheel in a see the elephants.

There is a restaurant on the west side of town that is run by the circus staff, I think.

I believe there are about 4 circuses that winter in Hugo but I'm not sure how up to date I am. The elephants are very interesting and are part of the Endangered Ark Foundation which started giving tours and visits with them. A fun bit of info I learned, one of the elephants that took off and hid around Hugo lake for a few weeks back in the 70's is alive and well still living at the foundation.

BTW, Mr. Dave, you can add me to the attendees list but I highly doubt I'll be staying this year (work and such). I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting any new (to me or new in general) people!!
