What I found interesting was driving along the west side of the lake towards the river. Saw a place where the circus folks stay during the winter along the side of the road. Can't recall what circus it was. Never have seen that before. I'm sure some of you folks know what I am talking about. Couldn't help myself to wheel in a see the elephants.
There is a restaurant on the west side of town that is run by the circus staff, I think.
I believe there are about 4 circuses that winter in Hugo but I'm not sure how up to date I am. The elephants are very interesting and are part of the Endangered Ark Foundation which started giving tours and visits with them. A fun bit of info I learned, one of the elephants that took off and hid around Hugo lake for a few weeks back in the 70's is alive and well still living at the foundation.
That's pretty cool right there, thanks for posting.
I'll be there Saturday-Sunday.
BTW, Mr. Dave, you can add me to the attendees list but I highly doubt I'll be staying this year (work and such). I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting any new (to me or new in general) people!!
The clock is ticking. Slowly, but still ticking!
I'm ready, wish we could get some rain down there!! So looking forward to camp.
Biscuits, sausage gravy and coffee each morning at 6:30 am in Cabin #16. Redge and Allen, do you want to coordinate a Saturday night Fish Fry at your Cabin? I can bring a double cooker if you need it. Haven't planned on any other group food functions. (Don't put Merle in charge of supplying the fish).
