How do the heavy southern crappie rods do with a smaller weight like 1/2 or 3/4 double rig? Still enough sensitivity or do they need a little load to work well?
Hard to beat BnM Pro Staff 16ft for 3/4-2oz weight or 16ft BGJP with 1/16oz-1/2oz weight, I carry 2 sets to cover all bases. Monks and Grizzly Jig carry them with good pricing. Good fishing boys!

Southern crappie rods were designed around using a 1/2 weight to titghtline with, the 143t is a new specialty rod asked for and he delivered, though why I'll never know I pull cranks just fine and prefer the softer action of the original rods, cranks and stiff rods do not go together, even the bass guys like limber rods for cranks

This is great advice!
And those rods you are speaking of I have never heard about. They may be great rods......but nothing will be much better IF ANY better than the BNM PST's. And they are the same price pretty much. Unless you got money to just EXPERIMENT with, it would be a lot safer bet to go with what people on here have at least heard of. Im not knocking the product you speak of. They may be great. Ya have to ask yourself...."Is the risk worth the potential reward."
If ya do got the $$$ to experiment....buy em and give us a report!
