    Default Eyes

Well this is my first attempt at eyes. I powder coated all my jigs and heat treated them. I have vinyl paint and the eyes are changing from white to yellow on my orange jigs. Any help? The pink is holding the white fine Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1420309146.144053.jpg

Here's what little I know of viynl paint! I was always told to dip the head of the jig in vinegar, rinse then dry completely to get any oils from skin off and any older ones may have some oxidation to get off. Paint eyes hope Jackie chimes in cause I use 3d eyes on mine. If you're going to be using plastics make sure to epoxy coat the heads or the plastics will melt it.

JW, those eyes are fine. The fish don't care about a tint difference. I know you want them the best you can get but keep it all in perspective. I use Testor's model paints for my eyes and do well, still need a clear coat. I just bought the clear that Scott uses and plan on doing some heads with the airbrush too. I made this to do eyes with, holds a bit over a couple dozen. Glue and staple with a 1/8 carpet staple on a piece of Oak so it doesn't shift so easy. Do 1 side complete and let them set up and then turn em over without touching the paint as it doesn't all dry the same speed, then do the other and let em set up good before the second dot is added. Have fun.

Skeet that's a great idea. I been hanging mine on cardboard box. Will the clear coat vinyl do anything to the powder paint ?
