Here is a big El Dorado girl we caught in the trees a few nights ago. You have to go very slow and fish like there is a nice one on every tree. This time of year, we catch bigger fish on trees but not to many. I also stroll the rocks a lot.

Shallow brush is were I have been find them at. The 10 - 20 foot range has been good with the better quality on the deeper stuff or down in the lower part of the shallow stuff. Solid advice from all, what works one day will have you stumped the next.

That's where I found them yesterday at hillsdale. They were under lay down trees and brush where the water was 6-10 feet deep. I had to taunt them like my kitty cat, but they'd hit minnows.

Minnow bite at Melvern. Not many and hard to find. But some. No really big fish. Just 10.5 to 11 inches. Most in brush 10 to 20 ft of water. Chief and I cleaned 15 after 5 hours of fishing. Mostly early morning bite after 0930 or so could not get a bite.

Fall fishing still has its tough days.
Fished El Dorado last night. Left home wind was out of the south, got to the lake it was out of the north, small storm just missed the lake and the wind switched to the east. Fished every kind of cover, from deep trees to shallow trees, channels, rocks, brushpiles, with minnows, without minnows. Finally fished some old faithful brushpiles at the end of the evening and finally caught a couple keepers and a couple dinks. Brush was in the 8-12ft range.
