I learned to fillet fish the old fashioned way using a rapala fillet knife. No Electric. When I started serious fishing on Lake erie, Yellow Perch were plentiful and at the right time of the year, catching your 250 fish limit of Jumbos all around a pound each, was easy, cleaning them was hard, but we never wasted fish and got very good at filleting them.

And just like the video cut thru the rib bones, then a second person cut out the bones. Just had to make sure the person doing the de-boning paid attention. BTW, the fish processors back then charged 9 cents a pound and would fillet, wrap in 2 or 4 pound packages and freeze. Drop off by 2pm and you could pick up at 10am the next day or make arrangements to pick up the following weekend. They did an outstanding job and used knives....no electric.

Practice makes perfect! and a sharp knife.....priceless.
