I think we can agree that bluegill are just plain annoying!

So far, I havent had any jigs come apart per say. With or without the glue, with the exception of white bass. After 40 I had a jig head with some chenille hanging off the back end. I have had plenty with the tails pulled out, but only with #12-#8 hooks. Not so much with the #8 as with the #10 and #12. A #6 hook has more than enough room to secure the materials, no need to ever worry there.

I don't ever tie any smaller than a #8 hook except for flies amd then yes some #10 and #12. Have some hooks smaller, but not excessively so since I never tie an #18 or smaller as I have no need here.
Now if I find the big gills this month I will go for them, but only got on them one time here and the smalles we caught was 3/4 pound and largest was 1 3/4 pounds, we had 42. We had been bass fishing and it was slow and then ran into these with Texas riged worms, went to get some crickets and we had a ball! And yes since I got this side scan I have been looking for some beds in water 11' or deeper.

That one will do well for you. I tie a lot using chenille much like that. I have 3 different ones all very close, but different.

That should work great! I have the same chenille. Bobo gave it to me when I was first starting tying a couple months ago.

This one is my favorite. Uses green grizz marabou and a pink 1/32 head. It looks nicer in person, the pink works great with the green in the water. (my fist is in the picture to show a size comparison for a buddy of mine who I was tying them for).
