If you are in the Southern part of the state I would say the Crappie are biting about as good as its going to get right now. They are in spawning mode on the lakes I fish so moderation is a good idea but I think now is the time.
fish beside me? Fishing has been good. Crappies are not in yet, but some females are staging. Bluegills, males only hanging around in the shallows, nice sized. And lots of LM/Bass in shallow flats - 2-3 lb. Will be leaving for Florida next wk for 3 weeks with my flyrod, wadding on the Gulf side catching lots of Spanish Mackeral which are fun on the fly. If you fish the beds Mem/Day - put some back. Take a meal and not a limit.
