somewhat different than their larger cousins, they often peck like bluegill and I have fed them hotdogs in the dark under lights .
we find them in huge numbers around high oxygen locations here , spillways and water discharges and that sort of thing . they also tend to run with their cousins above the "pack" in the summer time in open water .
hear tell big bass eat them and have seen one inside a huge crappie one time . one thing for sure , they are prolific under the lights around docks at night too ....
really small jigs tipped with something will do them in every time and watch out for them spines and gill plates .
