I fish north bend often,I grew up within 4 miles of the park, and hunted much of the land now flooded by the lake.I do well fishing for crappie, many flooded trees make the fishing good.
Any one have experience fishing NB? It's just choked full with timber around the part I put in and being 16 don't really have the money to get a fish finder. Just wondering what kind of tactics are used there; thanks a lot!

I visisted the park a feww years ago on vacation. I only fished from shore but it sure looked like a great lake. I want to go back again after I retire.
It is a great place to fish, though not really a lake.It is fed by one of the Hughes rivers, with several miles of fishable stream.I deer hunted many miles of the river, before it was damed, forming the " Lake".Due to many, many flooded trees and sunken logs,I would suggest anyone bringing a boat and motor,to also bring an extra prop.I lost a prop the very first time on the lake, but now If I use a motor I also keep a wary eye out for prop knockers.
If you like fishing for crappie and gills, this lake does offer both in an abundance.I fish form a nucanoe exclusively, and see several kayakers, but most fish from johnboats on up to bass boats ( 10 hrs motor limit).live bait is allowed( it is a damed river) so many folks use minnows.
