Dude, I bought a 2005 1650 Express with a 40 hp. 1988 Evinrude 55 Minn kota 2 batteries, front and back casting decks livewell, trailer for $3,500.00 out of Nashville craigslist.Look around and you will find the boat you want!I would rig it for any lake you want to fish not just the Foot! Install a small kicker motor with a short shaft of about 5 hp.Save the big motor for other lakes!Good luck with your search!

    Hey Slablapper,
I had the real Sneak boat (trademarked name), used it when wife and I ran the COE campground in Tn. on Cordell Hull. Took my buddy in it to Santee and the next year they opened gator season here and they got a 15 ft one out of one of our bream holes. He started pulling his boat from Fla to Santee. Would not go in my Sneak after that, so I sold it and bought the Tracker. Sure miss the Sneak sometime though, it was a lot of fun to fish from.

brimeater, I have been fishing reelfoot for as long as i could walk. get the boat that you want for any lake. YOU WILL HIT STUMPS. So as long as you dont have a fiberglass boat it will be okay. You do see fiberglass boats out there alot but you not only have to worry about stumps, but a whole lot of people mark stumps with rebar and it will go right through any boat but with aluminum you can get it welded. Don't just idle around on that lake,go just fast enough so that when you do hit a stump, you will go on over it.My opinion is you need the larger motor to get off of them stumps. I fish down there with a 2072 with a 90hp.Honda on it. Good luck.

My Dad has been fishing the foot for years and when I was a kid we got a 18hp Evinrude Jet for his 1648 Lowe Jonboat. This thing was great with one person, if you cant see it, you can hit it. Sometime in the '90s he got a 165 Lowe console steer with a 60/40 mercury jet and this thing is a absolute monster. You gotta be wired tight, but one ride across the lake with him and you are a believer in a jet. I just bought a 2012 175 tracker and the three times Ive been to Reelfoot with it, I've highsided on stumps even though I dont get above idle. If you check around Donaphin Missouri there are several boat dealers that specialize in jet drive jon boats. Jet Doctor is there and they sell boats all over the country.
