Thumbs up Thanks for the tips Slabking

I just found this site and forum this week. Didn't think I could get into any crappie fishing in the Seattle metro area. Thanks to tips from Slabking, I went to Lake Union on Thursday. Caught 10 crappie, most were small but 3 were 10+ inches. Lots of rockbass (warmouth?) a couple of largemouth and a few smallies. Plan on learning the lake better over the summer.

Went to Blueberry lake on Friday. Didn't get any crappie but did get a 2lb bass on a senko. Took about 5 mins to drag him through the thick pads to land him on light line.

Went to Sammamish this morning. Caught 23 crappie most of them slabs. Fished from 6am to 9am (yes the gates were open early). I have been fishing Sammamish for the past 11 years and didn't know it held crappie until this week. I didn't believe the whispers that people were catching crappie out of sammamish.

Plan on hitting Lake Washington on Sunday to do more crappie fishing -I am addicted. I know the lake fairly well for bass. I have a few spots I will check for crappie.

Big thanks to Slabking for getting me started.

Welcome to the site Mark. Good to see the bite is picking up a bit this week.

We found some nice fish in Ohop on Saturday. I'll post a report soon. They are still in pre-spawn down there, females are hanging on deep brush and the males are up shallow and starting to turn black. Washington and Union should start to turn on soon.
