    Thanks for the info Heat and i plan to give it a try when the weather clears a little. Do you use live bait or plain jigs? I used road runners a lot back in Pa. and ohio and they worked great for me.

    I am originally from Iowa and I loved Road Runner jigs for walleye and crappie but I havent had much success with them out here. I was using a tiny 1/32 oz gold jig head with a meal worm or wax worm (whatever you want to call it) and jigging it about 6-12 inches above them. I marked them for 3 1/2 hours on and off but had only 8 takers.

    In the spring I use a little white twister tail and a white jig head with nothing else and do really well. I haven't ever fished Lake Washington for Crappie, only Perch. That is something I would love to do this spring.

    Just get me on the water and I will be okay.

    man, it sounds like I have much to learn about fishing patterns in Washington. I am looking forward to the move, but not to the change. Call me a rookie because I will be one.

    Heat;
    How was the perch fishing on Lake Washington? I use to fish Lake Erie for perch when i lived there and the fishing was great for them . Use to catch them 2 at a time using an erie spreader and emeral shinner minnows. I live only 11 miles from the lake and plan on giving it a try when the water warms up and try for those big perch that i've been reading about.

    Perch fishing in lake wa is awesome. Really easy from anywhere during the warm months, but gotta find em deep when its cold.

    Theyll move shallow and be accessible from the docks and shore within a month or two but if you have a boat find some deeper holes and mark some schools!

    Thanks for the info on Lake Washington perch. Got a 14 ft. lund so i'll be trying for the perch if the weather cooperates but with being retired i can fish anytime so i can wait for warm temps. I'll be putting in at Kenmore on the north end so do you have any info about the area around there and Arrowhead Point area. Was told Arrowhead was good for perch.

    I only fish from shore for perch a few times a year in the spring/summer for the pan so I'm not too familiar with off-shore (lol) perch fishing, but generally people do well off main lake points in deeper water at this time. They do stack around arrowhead for sure.

    When it warms up, just follow weedlines and there will most likely be perch everywhere. If you are getting small ones, move out a little deeper and find bigger fish - they school by class/size.

    Default Banks lake.

    Heat;
    How did your sunday fishing go on Banks lake? I sure do miss that walleye that i use to do on Lake Erie when i lived in Pa. and Ohio. WE caught lots of 5 to8 lb. fish and my largest was 11, what a hog. We used planner boards and downriggers and flat lines and it depended on the water level they were in. We used Bomber Long A' s,Wiggle Warts and light spoons. WE only had to travel 50 miles to the lake and it was all interstate and gas was reasonable. How long does it take you to get there from your place?

    Road Runner,

    Havent been around for a few weeks or at least not on Crappie.com. Banks has been doing well, we have pretty much been staying on top of the males and leaving the big girls alone to do their thing. A couple of the walleyes were milting already.

    It hasnt been hot and heavy but last Saturday I caught 5. (2 dinks, 16, 20 and a 22.5). We are catching tons and tons of big fat pregnant perch. Two weeks ago I got one that was just over 12 inches and weighed 1.1lbs. This last weekend I got one that was closer to 13 but she was getting ready to start spitting eggs at me so didnt weigh her, just got her back in the drink.

    We had 2 boats out there with two people each this past Saturday and we caught 9 keepers, biggest one being 23.5. That was in 5 hours. About 12:30pm they just shut off.

    Sunday was just as productive for their boat, but I was determined to prove the ney sayers wrong about South Banks during pre-spawn and they proved me wrong. We fished it hard for 4 hours and got 1 perch for our troubles.

    Me and my two sons are headed over on Satruday for a 1 day walleye fishing. We will be around Steamboat rock.

    We can be there in about 4 hours. Leaving about 2am. We usually get together a bunch of guys to split costs. I have a Lund I use for over here and my bigger Lund usually sits in Coulee City at a buddys to save from pulling that back and forth. Then we pull a 2nd boat over and just take turns putting boats in the water with the same vehicle. Saves gas money which is a must these days.

    I miss the midwest as well where it dont take long to get to a body of water with eyes in it. Here they dont want no part of Walleyes on the west side. They will eat their precious trout.

    Joe;
    How was your trip on the east side on Saturday? Went out on Lake Washington to try to find some crappie and only got some perch by accident. The water temps. are starting to climb and the crappie should start to move into to the bays and weed area's. Have you hit Roiesinger lately for the crappie?
