Welcome to the boards GreyWolf. You live near some serious steelhead waters. Duck is right in Ocean Shores btw, not to far from ya.
Hey thanks for the info guys. I used to own Greywolf Angler fly shop here before it burned in 2000. Waters West is now in the spot where I was. We sold the property to a young couple and they reopened Wild Birds Unlimited in part of the building. Waters West is in the other part. The lakes around here are mostly trout, but some of them do have bass etc. The best for crappie, bluegill, bass is, or was, Leland on 101 down by Quilcene. The others are Sandy Shore,Ludlow,Gibbs, Tarboo and Anderson. Most of these are managed for trout and some have special regs.
I will have to give Duck lake a try. I love to catch crappie and gills on a light fly rod. When would you guys suggest I give it a try. I have never fished that lake before. I looked it up on a map. It looks interesting
INlate spring there are some big gills that move to the shore to spawn and that would be the besty time to toss some poppers or a streamer. In the late summer into early fall the cannals around the lake are perfect for a short 7 to 8 foot 3 to 4 weight rod and are full of 8-12inch trout and bass a white or black marabu streamer or leach pattern will pay of big. If you want any more info just ask I treat it as my home lake even though i live in seattle.

Sounds like you spend allot of time down there, and are no stranger to a fly rod. What about all those other lakes around there and is there anyplace to camp with a truck camper
There is a camp ground down there but i am not sure of the location but o fish this lake and it's cannals you will need a boat or a float tube not much shoreline access. I am not sure about the other lakes around there but I have herd of some good streams with some sea-run cutts. And you bet you backing i am no stranger with a flyrod.LOL
