    Crickets work great for bluegills and perch. Easiest way to catch the big bluegills in Silver Lake and Potholes is to float a cricket 3 feet under bobber. Works on Kapowsin as well back in the marsh ponds in the NE end.

    it's definitely more about the scent and taste then action. i've had dead maggots on my jig and caught fish but without them not so much. worms are good tippers for perch and bluegill, not as much for crappie. i've tried meal worms with no luck, they are kinda bulky for a jig.
    fishing isn't a sport, it's a way of life.

    I went to Alum creek when I was at Columbus, OH. Lot of bass, and crappies there.
