I was at Mardon Aug 29-Sept 2 (as well as Moses Lake).
The fishing off the dock was great. Brought home a small cooler full of 10" or better and a bunch of bluegill. I saw one guy get a stringer full of 14" or better.
By the way, the 2nd crappie in the pics was over 16", the first was 15 1/2.

i think the 9" minimum and the higher water levals are paying off for the potholes. i've seen a lot more crappie caught off the dock in the past couple years. and a lot more big ones. i think it's really gonna get good in 2 or 3 years when all those 6"-7" crappie grow up

Uh..oh.......we might have to start a new smack talking thread:D. I know you've never seen me fish off that dock but I've been fishing it for 20+ years now. The carnage I leave there is not a pretty site at all . Good luck at the tourney...I know you won't need it though.

But foreal, I'm going to head out there that next weekend (30th) and put a whipping on those Moses Lake walleye and crappie. The fall bite should be kicking into gear by then. After that it's Green River salmon and lake Union crappie time until early December.

I was gonna stay at MarDon so I could fish for channel cats and crappie at night.

Looks like I'm going to be out there this weekend as well :D. Leaving seattle at 4am and should be on the docks at MarDon by 7am. After the bite slows down at the dock I'm going to hike back into the dunes and fish a couple beaver huts in the main channel for bluegills with the old flyrod.

Yeah, I'm not going to drag the boat over this time. With the water so low I'll be better off hiking back into the dunes and fishing the huts in the channels. There are some really nice bluegill holes back in there if you walk long enough and cross some water. I'll post up a bunch of pics of a few zipperlip holes :D.
