    Smile Crappie in Lake Washington?

Right there in Seattle et al; how about it? Do any of you Washington guys fish for Crappie in Lake Washington?

I lived there for nearly 40 years and the only thing I ever fished for in the lake was the Sockeye.:p
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

Hey Thudpucker. They are in there for sure. Not many guys fish for them and the ones that know where they are like to keep it a closely guarded secret since it's in the middle of the city. But yeah, I fish it about 60-80 days a year for crappies. It's been slow this year so far but I have not been out as much as I'd like.

Jeez your clear down in Tacoma too.
I lived a few miles from the lake as a kid and went to school out in the South end.
Now, with the advent of Fish finders, GPS, and Noah charts it should be easy to locate the places they might be, and then go prospecting for them.
I still dont know what those guys are refering to as "Perch" in lake Sammamish, and probably in Lake Washington too.
Lake Wasington if full of Rainbow. They are everywhere.
Before Mercer island was so settled and built up around the southern shoreline, I used to rent a boat at the Mt Baker boat house and row across to the south end of Mercer island and fish around the brushy shore line for Rainbow.
One day I trolled back, and picked up a fish about every Hundred yards or so, all the way til I had to reel up and get ready to dock.

A person should also be able to fish around the Docks in Lake Union, and all the shoreline out into Lake Washington and catch something all along the way.

Yup, Sheeple, traffic, stupid rules et al, I miss the Pacific Northwest.
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

Yeah, I moved to Tacoma about two years ago but was born and raised in Seattle. Before the move I'd be out there at least 120 days a year most years. It's still great for trout and some huge cutthroat. It's also one of the best trophy sized smallmouth bass lakes in the state. You'd be shocked to see how many boats can be out there on a sunny day these days. We call it "The Big Bathtub". Mostly pleasure boaters and mini yachts for the most part. It is a great place to live. Could do without the traffic though :D.

Here's a couple fish that came out of Lake Wa over the years (sorry about the larger pics).

This is what the crappie look like where I come from.

I live in Redmond and wish I could say they were caught around here. The average size crappie in Mississippi is a little larger than they are in Washington.

bigger n better n more bootiful than nice!

    Both Black and White Crappie

You guys in Washington shouldnt pass up Rattlesnake, Baker lake and Ross lake on the west side for Rainbows.
From Redmond, go to the upper Snoqualimie and wade right in. Fly fishing for the Rainbow in that slippery creek was the easiest fun I ever had fising in Washintgon.
I didnt use waders, Just my Ked's and blue jeans.
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D
