Fontana Last Weekend.
Put in at Lemmons Branch and fished Greasy Branch and Alarka Creek area. Caught around 12 Walleye jerking in 40 to 60ft. water Also caught 8 Walleye and 12 white bass trolling the main channel. We kept 5 walleye for supper and turned the rest back. They seemed to want silver and black and glow colors. Good luck.

When you say jerkin can I assume jigs? Near the bottom?

I guess I should have explained better. I use rapala ice jigs or Nils Master ice jigs. I search for fish laying on the bottom or close to the bottom, then I drop my jig to the bottom and then jig it up and down. This is a simple bit of information and it does take some practice to learn what the fish are looking for, but anyone can do it with some patience and practice. The real key is to find fish and get them to bite. Good luck.

I haven't fished Fontana is some years now. My dad used to fish it religously. Have the average size of the walleye increased over the years? When we stopped going it was getting hard to catch a walleye over 2 lb.
Also, I saw that you were from Old Fort, Do you know Marion Allison by any chance?

We have been catching some nice fish in the 3 and 4 pound range on Fontana. Yes I know Marion well.

That's good news. I have my N.C. lisence I may have to sneek out one weekend and give it a shot. I just live at the end of "The Dragon" on the TN side. Marion Allison is a fine fellow. I bought a pup from him 2 years ago.
