I know of some people catching them trollin(big Motor) cranks 20 yards from bank about 15' to 25' deep of step points.

From AL/TN state line AL Highway 79 to Devil Step boat ramp on Tim's Ford trip distance: 23.7638.2 mi Time: 36 mins

From AL/TN state line AL Highway 79 to Woods to Franklin County boat ramp trip distance: 29.0846.8 mi Time: 44 mins

some of Woods was closed for Duck hunting but it sold be ok in February Good luck

I guess I have it pretty lucky as I just have to walk out in the front yard and set a bait for walleyes, although I am in Northern Michigan.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Wow, "had to mount a deer", up here we don't call that taxidermy, we call it bestiality! Sorry, 20 years in the Navy warps some people's humor, but I came out unscathed! :D Seriously though, I guess Lake Erie is supposed to be the Walleye capital of the world, perhaps you should try going there on a long weekend. With a little pre-study I would think you might slay them.

Not near as many big ones these days.

The walleye was caught in 1982 Al Nelsons' 22 lb. 11 oz. IGFA world record Walleye
