I would love to learn to catch them myself. Unless some more work breaks loose for me I might be on Greers the latter part of next week. If you get into em holler at me, or at least let me know if you catch some. I will do the same.

    Default Walleye wisdom.....

If there is one thing I have learned about reservoir walleye, it's that I don't know much.....Been guiding on Stockton MO several years, they still puzzle me regularly........Don't have all the answers but, if I can help, I will try......PM me or contact me thru website Welcome to Anglers Midwest Guides and Gear

you might start by talkin' w/ the bait shops about where they've been catching them, on what, how deep. keep an eye on which side of the lake the wind's been blowin on for a few days, tends to attract them. get set up w/ some 2 hook walleye spinner crawler harnesses and some bottom bouncers, some crankbaits like shad raps and some snap-on weights for long lining, find main lake points and start trolling. if you can find main lake flats fish them especially at night. if the lake produces electricity, troll the outlets at night 50-70 feet down. troll rip rap at night during spawning time. good luck good eating.

What works here is casting around the bluffs at night using rapalas. In the spring you troll in shallow water at night as the walleyes hunt in the shallows. As summer comes the lakes stratify and the fish tend to follow water temps and oxygen. Generally the lower bottom of the lake has little oxygen and therefore walleye suspend often following baitfish. Summertime trolling around here using crankbaits in the 20 to 30 feet down range works. Good fishing.

I had a friend pick up a couple last week trolling craw colored shad raps around eden isle. Said he tried to stay in about 20' of water.
