Whoa mama it was cold!!!
Lancaster cnty Pa, Amish country. We did one of our pilgrimages for the the boys, Thomas at the Strasburg Station. This gets a shade bigger each time. We did the usual Thomas train ride, dined on an old steamer, the train museums, Amish food, oh man big fun!! But for some reason when I saw the mercury at 13 deg(at home)yesterday it just didn't ring any bells as I got ready for a colder place.
Seen about every 15 seconds going one way or another.
Thee one and only in the USA, Thomas. Little bugger is hot, trust me.
The Strasburg 475, we had lunch on board as we traveled through the PA country side.
Note the staff going from one car to another in high gear.
This looked like a 10 or 12 inch track, I know they come in both, but there was no mistaking this was a real coal fired boiler and fully functional.
On the museum side. It hosts 100 cars and locos INSIDE alone.
On the way back we got NAILED by the Pennsylvania snow. We stopped at Hersey Farm about 4:00pm (best joint in the state, seniors get 25% off) came out and boom! We spent the next 3 hours trying to go from Strasburg to Gettysburg. Made it home about 10:00pm. What a b*tch that trip was, we saw literally dozens and dozens of wrecks and spun out cars.
