    Default Buggs Island update

Fished Buggs yesturday. Brought home 27. Biggest one was 14 inches. We started out pulling jigs. Went over a brushpile in 17ft. of water and caught 2 really nice ones. Pulled up the rods went back and dropped a buoy on the pile. The slab fest offically begun. Fish minows with bobber stopper set at 10ft.
Found more brush and more fish. Biggest fish went 1Lb. 12 oz. I know that pulling jigs works. But...... Man I love watching that balsa float go under.
Talked to a guide that was out with a client. He said the fish he had caught were spawned out......???????. All the females we had were full of row. Had not spawed out yet. Don't know where he was fishing thou. Oh for you jig Fishing guys out there....The colors that worked were Dark Green/chartruse tail curly tail grub and a black/char tube. 1/16 oz. Jig head.
For you guys going down this weekend hope the info helps.
    Good Fishing,

Nice work Yelper. Nothing.....nothing beats watching that cork go under! Makes me feel like a kid.

How did the water look? I know it has been coming up, just wondering what creeks are real muddy and which ones might look better.

    Thanks for the report.

Water was about 2 ft. up in the bushes. Water color stained just the way I like it. Water temp. 57 degrees. Weather: Cloudy misty rain. Barometric pressure was riseing. Wind out of the NE at @ 10 mph. There was some real "Boat Killers" floating on the main lake and in the big creeks...So you guys be carefull. I fished up the lake around the Rt. 58 bridge area. The main lake was not muddy but.....the muddy water may be on the way.
Good Luck guys and good fishing.

Another Update........Have a friend that has been on Buggs the last two days. He smoked them yesturday.....With and East wind and cold weather....today is beautiful and the fish have got a bad case of shutmouth. Grassy Creek is muddy with lots of debree floating all over it. The main lake from Clarksvillie to Rudds looks like tomato soup. He did not go into Rudds or Butchers. You may want to check it out as you drive to the campground. Water temp was 57 degrees this morning got up to 62 by 5pm today. Lake level is 305. You may want to go to WWW.kerrlake.com for water level updates and fishing info. He caught his fish yesturday in 17ft. of water dunking minners.
It was a deadstick bite. Had to put it in their face and leave it there. Today as mentioned fishing has been off. I would suggest checking out Panhandle Creek...Eastland Creek and of course Nutbush. They seem not to muddy up as bad as the other ones. You guys have fun and be careful out there. Oh... and stay away from them lot lizards. LOL
The last minner in the bucket is mine ....awww go ahead then.
