Default Kerr Lake:Island Creek and|or Buckhorn

I will be taking my 6 and 8 year old sons to Kerr for Friday and Saturday. Plan on running 8 rods with corks. Has anyone ever fished anywhere in these creeks for crappie this time of year, and if so, what was your experience if yo don't mind sharing some basic info. Plan on launching from the Island Creek ramp (1st time)

Thanks Panphysher. I usually fish the Mill Creek area of Nutbush this time of year, but the boys want to "explore" a new adventure..gotta love the imagination of a young boy, and some of us old one:D

How do you do in Nutbush? I've never been there and you don't hear much about it.

Don't bother with the Nutbush area. Go to Grassy Creek area. I fish the Nutbush area regularly because it's only a few miles from home, but if I were planing a longer distance trip to get to Kerr, I'd go where the fish are, which is Grassy Creek. Actually planning on a trip to Grassy this weekend. Check out:

    IBNFSHN,

Muddy Water is right about more action in the upper creeks, especially if your not familiar with the area, but I seldom have a bad day in Mill Creek when I go (3rd week March to end of April), and you never see me dippin without weedless 16th oz. jigheads

I agree with skipping Nutbush. I have a place there and this time of year I drive around to the upper end of the lake. Later on in April,May and June I can catch em pretty good in Nutbush. Give it a try during those months if u go again. Hope this helps.
