    Default Uncles trip

Headed to Buggs next week to take my uncles on a long needed fishing trip. They usually fish from the bank and I知 taking them out on my boat. Plan to put in at Bluestone. They like bobber and minnow fishing. I知 concerned that fish are still deep and that technique may not be the best. Any feedback on depth fish are now would be appreciated. Can switch to spider rigging if needed. Just want them to have a great time. Appreciate any feedback.

Hope it goes well. One day or more? Nothing wrong with bobber and minnow around snd structure. Slip cork rig allows to fish any depth.

Are you new to Buggs? Have you fished Bluestone much? Do you have side imaging to help find some structure?

Just one day. Monday. I put in at Bluestone about 3 times a year. Have sideimaging and usually fish brush piles. Is there somewhere I can see the water temp? It would give me a better idea of what depth to start at.
    Thank you!

I don’t know where you find water temp. We’ve had so much rain and the lake has been up and down so much, I don’t know what the fish will be doing. Except there is almost always some on brush. And this time of year it’s time for some to be very shallow.

The first big bowl just up from the ramp on the left, is mostly shallow and has always given up some fish spider rigging around. There is also some decent brush in the deepest part of it, which is the south-east part not too far between that single dock and the point.

Also the area in past the 49 bridge can be good, acting similar to the Buffalo creek flat. If you go in there go all thd way to the back, the east end and drop a minnow by each corner of those docks. You will see that at this lake level there are trees in the water all between those docks with 12-18” of water. Those big girls will get up next to them. Great place to flip a minnow. While being respectful of the docks, don’t let them keep you from fishing any water you wish. Those docks sit on our public water.

And always, always side scan both bridge pilling for fish.

    Hope you have great time.

A lot of wind, a lot of good conversation, and some good laughs but no fish! Marked some fish, but not able to get them to bite. Tried the locations near Bluestone and put in for an hour at Rudds. Surprisingly water temperature reading 53ー. Saw one of the boat at Bluestone. He was headed to spider rig in Buffalo. Left some to catch next time…

Well dang. The rain has had Buggs water level going crazy for 3 months. Guess the fish are wondering what to do as well.
