Default Tried Little Creek Reservoir today for the first time this year

Yep. Same as I caught last time. Tons of tiny fish hitting my bait all the way back to the boat; not a single one of them big enough to get that little white Road Runner in its mouth.

Unfortunately, no Crappie. Wind got up pretty good this afternoon, and I couldn’t stay over the deep spot that I was seeing balls of baitfish with larger fish feeding. That was in deeper water than my 20 foot anchor rope would reach, so I tried drifting over the spot a few times with multiple lines out. No takers. So I broke out the Road Runner and Beetle Spin and pounded the banks for a few hours. Everything I caught was small, including the Pickerel.

Still had a lot of fun today though. Microlight rod / reel, 2 lb test, and little lures.

Its been many years since I fished there. Best I remember is the only place we caught decent fish was around beaver dams.

    Default Little creek resavor .

Beautiful lake .It's got some big bass in it.stripers crappie blue gills.the game commission added 95,000 walleye and sauger in 2014 . .I've got to get back down there soon .I like it in mid March through April . In May the lake grasses get to be too much It's still a great lake to fish.

I keep seeing the sauger and walleye (and saugeye hybrid) notices posted, but I have no idea how to catch them, and I have yet to meet someone on that lake that says they have! I really would like to do that though. Yet another thing I have to learn to do. I've heard people "troll deep" for them, but I don't know if I can troll correctly with my little 10 foot boat and a trolling motor!

The first time I fished it, I fished with a neighbor that had a Bass Tracker aluminum boat. We were allowed to put it in, but had to keep the outboard trimmed up due to the no outboard rule (electric motors only - or human powered). These days, I don't even think you could launch that boat on the ramp, because the water is so low, the ramp ends in mud / rock. I've only seen kayaks, canoes, and small boats like my little Bass Raider in there lately.

    All the best,
    Glenn

What I don't like about the ramp is your boat goes completely out of site while backing down the steep ramp. I haven't been there in a couple years it's about 60 miles from my home.and gas keeps going up.

One thing ive heard about lcr is its yellow perch. A black doll fly was the lure used. Striped bass if you can net some herring and keep em live. Very clear water, intimidating ramp for sure, but some quality fish. I owe my citation expert certification from there with shellcrackers.
