Very good information on how to post a picture.
Posting pics on a message board is not that hard. It can be very frustrating on the first try, but once you do it, it is one of those “riding a bike” things.
Three things have to happen to post a picture.
1. Pic must be on your computer
2. Pic must be uploaded to somewhere on the internet
3. Once on the net, you copy the pic’s address and paste it in your message.
It sounds much worse than it actually is.
The hard part is you must get your pic on the internet somewhere, then you just copy and paste it in a message. First go to www.snapfish.com and follow direction to sign up and make yourself an online album. Snapfish is free for a year and then they ask you to buy something (picture prints or send them a roll of film to develop). I sent in a roll of 35mm each year to keep my file open. Easy enough. Once you have an album on Snapfish, you click “upload photos” and follow directions. This takes you into your own computer to select the photos you wish to upload.
Once your pics are on Snapfish they will show as small pics (thumbnails). Click on one and it becomes large. Then right click on the large photo and click “properties”. This will open a window with all the pic info. There you will see that pictures web address, called a URL. You highlight the entire URL and right-click “copy”. I say ENTIRE URL because the tricky thing is when you see the URL it shows two lines of text. When you highlight the address, make sure you scroll all the way to the right and down. When you do this the hidden third line will show. Copy the address you just highlighted.
Now go to your thread post and type your message. You have to paste the address now. For the computer to know it is a picture and not a link, you have to put “” (without the quotes) behind it. I like to type the “” all run together and then click my cursor in between them and “paste” the address.
Wooooooo! That is it. Sounds like rocket science when you type it. This works for any picture on the net. Try it here. Post a reply. Go up to the top of the screen and “right-click” on the Crappie.com logo and select “properties”. You will see the window with the URL. Highlight it, copy and paste it here. The Crappie.com logo only has two lines of text. Some pics have one, two or three. See if it works.
Remember, posting pics is cool. But it also takes up valuable bandwidth for the owner of the website you are using. And the more pics, the slower it loads for those using dial up internet service. You know how frustrating it is to wait.
See if it works for you.
